We were contacted tonight about a hoarding situation. There were seven Great Pyrenees (dogs), three pigs and two goats who were emaciated and living in filth. Animal Control allowed a dog rescue to take the dogs, but the owner refused to turn over the goats, and instead had them slaughtered that day (they were what was being fed to the dogs). The rescuers managed to take the three pigs, but unfortunately the pigs have nowhere to go, and they do not find a home by tomorrow, Wednesday, December 18th, we are told that they may end up going back to this horrible man.
There is a video of the dogs but WARNING: please do NOT click on the link as these images may disturb you. There are pieces of animals that were fed to the dogs.
There are two Managlitsa pigs – one male (he’s the black one) and one female (she’s the pink one). Mangalitsa pigs have curly hair- they look kind of like sheep. There is also a pink male barn pig. They all weigh about 300 pounds. The male pigs are NOT neutered, but there is a sponsor who is willing to help pay for them to be neutered.
The pigs and dogs are currently all in Orange Park Acres, which is in Orange, CA (south Orange County). The dogs are safe for now, but need to be checked out by a veterinarian and spayed/neutered/vaccinated.
If you are able to help with the pigs, PLEASE contact Dana ASAP!! (949) 285-1218 or e-mail: dmk@mkungl.com . She would like them to go to a home, not to someone who is planning on slaughtering them. Dana is also the contact if you are interested in helping with the dogs as well.
