UPDATE: LADYBUG HAS A HOME. A wonderful person stepped up and she is SAFE. Ladybug is going to have horsie friends too! THANK YOU to all that shared her and reached out to us. We did it, you guys! And it only took a few hours. The power of horse lovers is supreme!
Urgent situation: stable is going to send horse to auction to pay for the back board and we need help! PLEASE SHARE
We were contacted about a situation at a local stable in Orange County CA. A woman had stopped coming out and working with her horse, and had stopped paying board. Another person at the stable had stepped up and was caring for the mare, getting her out and even purchasing grain and shavings for her, but was not able to take over the board payments.
We offered to help, and had a potential home lined up for her, but unfortunately that fell through at the last minute. Can you help? Do you know anyone who may be able to take this poor girl?
Ladybug (Lady) is a 28 year-old paint Quarter horse mare. She is blind in one eye. She has arthritis, but it improves when she is able to get out everyday, rather than being locked in her stall for days on end.
We have been able to get the owner to sign paperwork to get her turned over to Hanaeleh, but we need a place for her to go. Is there anyone out there who can help this girl? If you can, please contact us ASAP: elizabeth@hanaeleh or via phone: (949) 842-7408.
