7/18/24 Update: SAFE! We were contacted by the person helping the owner and they let us know that Sunny will have a wonderful retirement home! Thank you to everyone who helped to share his post!
San Dimas, CA: We were contacted by a friend of the owner of Sunny, a beautiful 22 y/o Palomino Tennessee Walking Horse gelding who needs a home. His owner is unable to pay his board payment and would like him to find a forever home where he will be cared for.
Sunny’s owner is blind, and Sunny is a kind, willing partner to her. Unfortunately, his owner has developed other medical issues, and those compounded with financial difficulties is the only reason she is parting with him. He was a show horse, but recently developed a suspensory issue in his right front, preventing him from being ridden. The vet said he could be ridden for a short time by a child. He is currently on Equioxx and is pain-free at liberty. He would probably be better as a companion horse.
