We are so very pleased to announce that Jesse has a new home! Jesse is a little Quarter horse who was rescued by Hanaeleh about 10 years ago. His original owner was abusive in his training methods, causing Jesse to colic due to stress. We rescued Jesse and adopted him out to a very loving family, who spent a lot of time and money in training Jesse in both English and western disciplines. Unfortunately, their financial situation changed and they were no longer able to keep Jesse. Hanaeleh always retains a first right-of-refusal on all of our horses, and when they said that they were no longer able to keep Jesse, we willingly took Jesse back.
Jesse needed a unique situation. He did not do well at large stables, and would colic when pushed to show-level training. He is great with other horses, but is so passive that he was always the lowest horse in the herd, so he could not be put in a small area with other horses. That being said, he does like other horses, and could not be alone. We waited, knowing that the perfect home would come for Jesse, and after a few months, it finally did! Jesse was adopted last week by a wonderful woman named Mary, who had actually volunteered at Hanaeleh several years ago. She was looking for a sweet Quarter horse to do some trail riding and a little arena work. She wanted a horse who was relaxed and mellow and did not have a lot of drama. She is a very calm, sweet person, and she wanted a calm, sweet horse. It was a match made in heaven!
Mary was allowed the opportunity to keep Jesse on a lovely estate in Coto de Caza. He lives with two other horses and can graze all day! It is like a paradise for horses!
We are so happy for Jesse and for Mary! There is always the perfect horse out there for everyone!
