Delilah and I are doing very well!
It’s been almost one year since we started the CCNU Chemo treatments to attack her multicentric lymphoma and I’m happy to report that the treatments have been successful.
Her internal organs are still free and clear of the lymphoma and all but one tumor have be gone now for the past six months.
The one tumor on her salivary gland wax and wanes, but doesn’t ever seem to come back at full force. We are continuing to administer CCNU every 6 to 8 weeks and she has had no side effects from it whatsoever. If she did we would stop immediately.
Her cutaneous tumors have been gone since completing the immunotherapy vaccine (from IMMUNE FX) last summer.
I also have her on a combo of Chinese herbs (Nublada’s Formula) and Cimetidine for her melanoma under her tail, which seems to be keeping those tumors at bay.
Delilah is a very determined, resilient and strong-willed mare who doesn’t give in easily. You would never know that she has been battling cancer. She doesn’t look or act like it.
Thank you so much for your generous donation to our fund. I was hesitant to use GoFundMe, but last year was an unexpectedly rough year for me, not only because of Delilah, but because my two elderly parents became ill at the same time (they are divorced and live in separate states), so I was their caretaker, both physically and with my mom, financially, which is why I started the GoFundMe page. I didn’t want to give up in our search for a cure because of lack of money.
It’s been a difficult journey at times, but the good that came out of it, makes me not doubt anything we’ve done. I happy to say that I have had people reaching out to me for help through my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ equinecancer/.
We are continuing to spread the word, and it makes us feel so happy that we can help. Even the vet who gave her a death sentence reached out to us for our protocol to use on another horse!
Thank you so much for being there for horses like Delilah. She is my heart, my soul and my mirror – the love that I have for her is so incredibly deep – I’ve learned so much from her.
