“Boss” is a 16 year old bay Peruvian Paso gelding who needs a home as soon as possible. His owner is moving and doesn’t have the financial means to keep him. She rescued him from a neglect situation for her daughter, but her daughter is afraid of him because he is very shy. Neither the mother nor the daughter can give him the time he needs.
Boss was left in a corral for a year, fed very well (alfalfa), and is now overweight. He’s currently on a diet (orchard hay), but he still needs to lose some weight. He was apparently not handled during the past year, and is now very shy and has trust issues (especially with his feet). He’s not malicious, he’s tentative and would need someone who can consistently work with him to get him comfortable with people again.
His owner says that he is very sweet and does well when turned out with other horses. He desperately needs his feet trimmed (he is barefoot and has never had shoes). He’s up-to-date on all of his vaccinations and has had his teeth floated. He’s supposed to be trained to ride but the current owner has never ridden him (has only sat upon his back). He appears sound and otherwise healthy.
If you have some time and love to give to a very sweet gelding, please contact his owner:
