Yesterday was an exciting day! We thought we had prepared for the wind- all of the tables were turned over, the chairs were stacked, the trash cans were put away. For the past few months we have been trimming trees and cutting back all dead branches. We were pretty confident that the wind would not be an issue. UPDATE: Cindy Lou and Noelle
We thought that people would like an update of our Christmas rescues, Cindy Lou and Noelle! They are both up in a foster home at Sylmar, and are gaining weight and doing well. Noelle is the chestnut mare we rescued when the man who purchased her at auction no longer wanted her. She faced an uncertain future, and possibly would have been shipped to slaughter if Auction Horses Rescue had not intervened and asked us if we could take her. UPDATE: Haven and Cullen Visit the Vet
On Thursday, the vet came out to see Haven and Cullen. It was a bit confusing for the secretary when I called, because I wasn't sure if Cullen would have gained enough weight by then to get the shot, and I also wanted the vet to assess Haven's knee, and see if maybe injecting it would be helpful. I also wanted the vet's honest opinion about Haven's potential for recovery; I don't want to put any animal through needless pain, and I wanted to make sure she wasn't suffering.
