We are so happy to announce that Austin was adopted yesterday! We took Austin in last year because he had been abandoned by his owner and suffered a great deal of neglect. He was underweight, had little muscle tone, and had fungus all across his coat and legs. He had been standing in muck for so long that his feet were diseased and infected. Aggie Gets a New Home!
Hanaeleh receives calls every week about a horse who is in need of a home. Although we cannot take in every horse, we do try to network horses as often as possible. We believe that this is a great option for the owners and the horses, as it allows the owners to converse directly, and it is less stressful for the horse, as the horse is not constantly being moved from one stable to another. Update: Grace Goes Out on Trail!
We took in Hope and Grace a few months ago, and they have been doing very well! When we first got them, they were so bonded that we could barely take one a few feet from the other without them calling for one another. Now, they are able to go out, get groomed or exercised, and are just fine with leaving the other. A few weeks ago we began taking Grace out on the street and trail by Hanaeleh. Update: Onyx Gets Her Teeth Floated
We've been slowly getting Onyx caught up on all of her vaccinations this past month or so, and today she was healthy enough to get her teeth done! In the horse world, we will "float" the horse's teeth, which is essentially filing down any sharp points and making sure the teeth on the bottom "match" the teeth on the top.
