We live in an incredibly polarized time right now, and people's tempers get high when they feel that their personal moral beliefs are being challenged. UPDATE: Hope and Grace
Hanaeleh rescued Hope and Grace from a neglect situation earlier this year, and spent several months rehabilitating them. We were so happy that just a few months ago, they ended up finding a wonderful new home with an amazing couple! They were in an idyllic setting in Topanga Canyon and lived in a paddock with a gelding who immediately fell in love with Grace. UPDATE: Brutus and Chance
This past year one of our board members adopted not one- but two(!!)- horses from Hanaeleh. The first horse she adopted is named Chance- he is a warmblood we had networked who could be lightly ridden, but could no longer be jumped. The other is our lovely Brutus, who had a very difficult life before he came to Hanaeleh at three. He was malnourished and had not been socialized or trained at all. UPDATE: Venus
Venus came to Hanaeleh this summer. She had been picked up at an auction by a "rescue" organization that has since been shut down. At their facility, a splinter was embedded in her eye, which was not discovered until she was fostered out to an individual who was supposed to help train her. The foster realized the eye was infected, but by the time she had the vet out, too much damage and scar tissue had built up in the eye.
