UPDATE: We had someone contact us who is willing to take this lovely girl- he and his wife already have seven horses they’ve rescued, but they saw this post and realized that she needed their help!
Thank you to everyone who shared this post- we are so happy that this girl will have a safe place to go!
San Dimas, CA: Aria is a sweet 18-20 year-old Arabian mare who was abandoned by her owner in a neighbor’s backyard. There are people who have been working with her and trying to rehab her, but they are moving and cannot afford to take her.
The people have been working to put weight on her, because she was very skinny when she was abandoned. She is currently on 1/2 alfalfa and 1/2 teff, with some senior feed and some soaked pellets. She is currently at a boarding facility in San Dimas, and seems to be good with her neighbors. Otherwise, they don’t know much about this girl- they have worked her a little in the arena, and put a saddle on her and she seemed fine with the entire thing. They have had the farrier out once, but she is due for the farrier again. She is easy to handle and is very sweet, but because she was so thin when she was abandoned, the owner hasn’t tried any riding or training.
