We were contacted by an animal control officer who rescued a Palomino Paint Mare from the shelter. The pony had come in thin and needing vet and farrier care, which she provided. She renamed the pony Allison, and has made sure she has a good diet and is current on all of her medical and farrier care. Unfortunately, Allison has an injury to her hips and pelvic bone that prevent her from being worked or ridden.
Allison is around 13 hands and is between 5-10 years old. Although Allison is not in danger, her owner is hoping that there might be a better home out there, so she is looking to see if anyone is in need of a companion horse or therapy horse. She said that Allison is a little aloof at first, but will warm up to people relatively quickly. She is good with kids. She has her Coggins test completed, and her owner is willing to entertain placement out of state if the situation is right.
Allison is NOT at Hanaeleh. If you are interested in Allison, please contact her owner Jennifer directly: (760) 998-7587.
