We received a call from a woman looking to rehome her registered Swedish Warmblood mare, Chantilly (Tilly). The owner has been struggling financially for several months, and now with Covid she does not have an income and needs to find Tilly a home.
Tilly is registered with the Swedish Warmblood Association of North America: # 04-08-7055. Tilly is 11 years old (born August 27, 2008) and has been trained for flat and for jumping. She has been slightly lame at the trot for the past 18 months. Her owner has tried joint injections and that did not work. She did x-rays and discovered a cyst on her right P2, but the vet does not even know if that is what is causing the lameness. She can still be ridden in the arena, but she should not be jumped. She has not been trained as a trail horse.
Tilly is a spirited mare with a lot of personality. She loves people and affection. She is not a horse for beginners, however- she requires an intermediate or experienced handler and rider. With the right person she does very well.
Except for her slight lameness, Tilly is in good health, although she is a little out of shape because she hasn’t been worked as much. She has front shoes. She is currently boarded in Lake Forest at Serrano Stables.
Tilly is NOT at Hanaeleh. I
