4/12/18 UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Ivy’s owner contacted us this afternoon and let us know that Ivy has found a wonderful home! Her owner has a contract that will ensure that she has first right-of-refusal on Ivy, and that Ivy can never be raced or sold to slaughter.
We are very happy for Ivy, and hope that she does very well in her new home!
Hanaeleh helps to network horses who need homes, free of charge. These horses are offered free to a good home, but an adoption agreement and contract are often suggested. Hanaeleh is not responsible for any of the information provided and does not know anything beyond what is listed in the post- please contact the owner directly.
Ivy is a 4 year-old dapple-grey Thoroughbred mare. She is officially an off-track Thoroughbred (O.T.T.B). Her registered name is NintyNine North, #1404902. You can see her pedigree here. She was rescued by her owner from an abusive situation, and was rehabilitated. Unfortunately, her new owner can no longer keep her, and she is looking for a good home for Ivy.
Ivy is a very beautiful mare. She is very friendly and loves people. She wants to please her rider, but needs some more ground work training. Currently she is in training on ground work and is doing well.
Ivy has some arthritis in her right front knee due to a racing injury. The vet did x-rays and it is conformed bone development. Ivy CAN be ridden, and she is not in any pain, but she should probably be worked on the flat and should NOT be jumped. She can be ridden on trail as long as the trails are not too technical.
