This morning in the rain we drove up to Cerritos to pick up a horse. His owner unfortunately was no longer able to care for him due to medical and financial issues, and the family had no choice but to find Jack a new home. They were all very distraught to say goodbye to Jack, but we promised him that we would keep him safe and find him a new, loving family.
Jack is an 18 year-old American Creme Draft gelding. He has no papers, but he is a big, beautiful boy. The pictures aren’t that great because, of course, it started pouring down rain just as we got back to the barn. He seems to have fit in OK with the rest of the horses (Stella squealed at him a few times, then promptly ignored him). According to the owners, Jack is somewhat of an escape artist, so we have him double-locked to prevent him from letting himself out of his stall.
We will do an assessment of Jack, then will put him up for adoption. He seems healthy and happy, so we are sure he will find a new home very quickly!
