As some of you may know, Apollo, who was adopted by Katie and Stephen a few years ago, colicced Saturday morning. It looked like he was doing well, but he took a turn for the worse on Saturday. The vet came out and after working with him for about an hour, he was hopeful that he would get well, and Apollo’s owners stayed with him all night.
Sunday morning we ended up having to take Apollo to the hospital as it was clear he was just not getting better. He has been there since, and for some reason he is not passing anything. The prognosis unfortunately is not good- for some reason he has an impaction that will just not clear. Surgery is literally thousands of dollars and his vet costs are already astronomical with several days in the hospital on fluids. Luckily, Apollo is not in any pain- he just is not passing anything.
If you can, please take a moment and send a positive thought for Apollo and his family. We are hoping that things will pass on their own, but after several days it is not looking good. It would be nice if everyone could send their positive thoughts and prayers to Apollo and his family during this difficult time.
