Everyday brings with it new challenges, but today was more than interesting. I went to feed the chickens today and found a mouse who was stuck in the coop- he got about halfway through the wires and then got stuck! Apparently we are feeding the mice as well as the rest of the animals (the cats and I are going to have a long talk, by the way).
I put on a pair of thick leather gloves in case the mouse decided I was a threat, and a few snips of the wire cutters, and the little guy (well, fat guy) was free. He actually was relaxed about the entire thing, and sat there very calmly as I cut him out. Once he was free, he walked right through the coop and past us without a care.
I’ll be fixing the hole in the chicken coop tomorrow. Who knew in addition to horses I’d have to rescue mice as well?
