Barbie is a 15 hand, bay nine year-old Arab/Quarter horse mare who needs a home. Barbie was rescued when she was three years old. She had a foal, who has since found a good home. Barbie has been with her current owners since she was rescued, but her owners unfortunately are older and are experiencing medical issues that are making it difficult to care for Barbie.
Barbie is trained to ride, but has trust issues and does not do well with men, so she would need a woman rider/handler. She needs a high intermediate or experienced handler. She loves to work, and enjoys learning new things, such as the Parelli games. She stands well for the farrier as long as he takes his time with her and is with someone she trusts.
Barbie is currently turned out with three horses and a donkey, and is good with the herd. She does NOT do well in a stall situation, and while she is great in a paddock with other horses, she is aggressive towards people and other horses when in a stall. She needs a home where she can have a large paddock.
