Cesna Sunrise (Sunny) is a 13 year-old registered Paint mare who was rescued last year by a wonderful woman who saw her picture on our website. Sunny was a barrel racer who was recovering from a bowed tendon on her right front. She needed time to heal, which she has done, and she will be able to be ridden in another few weeks. She is in excellent health otherwise, and is currently barefoot. She is kept at Serrano Stables in Lake Forest, CA. Unfortunately the new owner is experiencing health problems, and is moving in a few months. She is not sure she will be able to care for Sunny, and is not sure it is for the best that she try to take Sunny with her.
Sunny is very calm around different people, and likes children, but she would need an intermediate/advanced rider. She does not care for cattle, but is good around dogs and goats. She is a very social mare and enjoys being around people. Sunny will never be able to compete as a barrel racer again, but she would be a great trail horse, pleasure horse or therapy horse. Sunny does not have an adoption fee, but the new owner wants to ensure that she goes to a good home.
