A few weeks ago Gabriel was returned to Hanaeleh. We always take our horses back after being adopted, no matter the reason. Unfortunately, we were completely full and we didn’t have any stalls available, so we made a makeshift stall for him, hoping that eventually he would be able to live in the paddock with Hope.
We tried putting Gabriel in with Hope and that turned out very poorly. We tried putting Andromeda and Hope together, and while they love each other, they also hate each other (It’s a weird horse thing). We tried several combos, but nothing seemed to work. While we try to put horses together and have them live in paddocks, our current population just doesn’t play well with others. We finally realized that we would just have to build Gabriel a proper stall.
We ordered a shelter and more panels and put that together on the weekend. It took a team of our very dedicated volunteers- we had to dig the post holes and put in the cement, put the shelter together, and raise the shelter up. By the end of the day, however, Gabriel had a lovely new shelter and his stall was much bigger!
We are so very thankful for everyone who helped put up Gabriel’s shelter (just in time for the rain coming this weekend!). It really takes a huge team of people, and we are so thankful for all of our volunteers who helped to ensure Gabriel has a safe and secure place to live!
