Ulysses Eating His Grain

April 3, 2013 By ezarkos

Ulysses

Ulysses is one of our rescues from the Riverside Animal Shelter.  He is a very beautiful horse who suffered an intense amount of abuse at the hands of humans; when we picked him up, he had scars from his head to his tail.  His tendons were so damaged that it looks like they have been bowed multiple times.  There are scars from rope burns on his muzzle and legs.  Then the humans who had done this to him, abandoned him in a riverbed to starve to death. We have had Ulysses for almost a year now, … [Read more...]

New Rescues

July 21, 2012 By Hanaeleh

Then it took a while to get him into the trailer- if I had just been … [Read more...]

Glenda Gets a Brand-New Coop (Thanks to Our Amazing Volunteers!)

August 28, 2025 By ezarkos

Glenda is one of the chickens at our ranch, and she had previously been living in a coop we built when we moved onto the property. The coop was sturdy enough to keep larger predators out, but unfortunately mice and rats were able to find their way inside. We did what we could to try to strengthen … [Read More...]
