Ulysses came to Hanaeleh from Riverside Animal Shelter. He was slated to be put down because he was neurological; he had been severely abused and his abusers had abandoned him in the riverbed to starve to death. Ulysses was covered in scars across his body, with so much scar tissue on his legs he most likely had several bowed tendons. This Weekend
We had a busy time out at the ranch this weekend- the horses all received their strangles vaccinations (we try not to give all of the vaccinations at once) so they are set until next year! The horses kept sneezing and trying to wipe their noses on us so the vet, Sally W. and Elizabeth all received the strangles innoculation by proxy. Heal Fast Therapy Patch
Heal Fast Therapy donated several patches to Hanaeleh to use on some of horses with more painful issues. We have used it on both Ulysses and Maggie, both with long-term lameness issues which have not responded to other treatment. In addition to having several bowed tendons and the inability to stand on three feet because of his neurological issues, he started to develop some major swelling on his left knee.
