Sapphire is back at Hanaeleh. Yes, you read that correctly. Last week we drove down to San Diego and picked up Sapphire. Tamahome had to go along for the ride, as Sapphire refuses to load into an empty trailer (she'll get into any trailer as long as another horse is in there, however). UPDATE: Sapphire’s New Home
Today we took Sapphire to her forever home in Encinitas, CA. It was both wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time; we are so very happy for Sapphire and her new family, and we have wanted her to have a special family to love her through the end of her years. At the same time, Sapphire is a very special horse, and we all grew to love her very much, and will miss her presence at Hanaeleh. This Weekend
We had a busy time out at the ranch this weekend- the horses all received their strangles vaccinations (we try not to give all of the vaccinations at once) so they are set until next year! The horses kept sneezing and trying to wipe their noses on us so the vet, Sally W. and Elizabeth all received the strangles innoculation by proxy. Sapphire 24-year-old Thoroughbred Mare Rescued September 6, 2008 Sapphire is about 16.1 hands. Sapphire was a previous show horse, and she has been trained both for jumping and dressage. She also does very well on trail, on the street, and was ridden in the Swallow's Day Parade. She has done well in sensory clinics and goes through water and obstacles.
