It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the passing of Hope, our dear little 30 year-old Arabian mare who we rescued along with her best friend, Grace, over six years ago from a neglect situation. Grace sadly passed last year in October, and we were uncertain at the time how Hope would do without her closest friend by her side, but she was both sweet and sassy to the end. RIP Grace
We are very saddened to report that we had to make the very difficult decision to help Grace across the Rainbow Bridge. Grace was a lovely little Arabian mare who was in her mid 30s, and unfortunately age and arthritis started to creep up on her, making the past year difficult. This past winter she had lost quite a bit of weight, so we have been trying to continually change her food to find a combination that would help her gain back her weight. UPDATE 2022: Hope and Grace
Hope and Grace are two bonded Arabian mares who came to Hanaeleh when their owner could no longer care for them. The were underweight and clearly in need of some love. After we get them back into better health, Hope and Grace were adopted out for a short time as therapy horses, but the facility where they were living burned down during the Malibu Fire in 2018. Update: Hope and Grace (August, 2020)
Hope and Grace came to Hanaeleh in 2018. They are both Arabian mares- Grace was a little over 30 and Hope was in her mid-20s. They had not been cared for well in some time, and were thin and neglected. We were able to provide them with regular food, farrier care and veterinary attention, until they were healthy enough to be adopted out.
