Garnet was rescued in August (just last month) and came to Hanaeleh with the diagnosis of COPD. Her owner was unfortunately moving out of state, and the vet felt that a long trip would be too stressful for her current lung condition. It's been a few weeks since Garnet came to Hanaeleh, but her breathing was so bad when she came that we had the vet out to see if there was anything else we could do to help keep her comfortable. Her previous owner's vet had prescribed some medication to administer once a week, but we were hopeful that perhaps there was something else we could do. Please Welcome Two New Horses to Hanaeleh
We were not expecting to welcome any new horses this month, but we found ourselves with an unexpected open stall. We had expected to rescue a horse in September, but we had to move that timeline up because her stablemate was moving to a different stable, and she would not be happy alone. We were also called by a rescue about a horse in immediate need and they were unable to take the horse, but were hopeful that we would be able to take her.
