Their mothers had already been shipped :-( and these babies had literally hours before they were going to be put on the truck to Mexico (laws state that any horse six months or older can be sent to slaughter). Rescued! Two Weanlings and a Mule!
We are so pleased to be able to have a happy ending to the post we put up on Monday about three babies who were at a feedlot on the border. The Backstory Hanaeleh's president Elizabeth happened to be scrolling through Facebook when she saw the post by Auction Horses Rescue. They were trying to network weanlings and yearling horses that had been rounded up from the Navajo reservation.
