Last week we received a phone call about a baby lamb who had been attacked by a dog. His leg was cut and his tail was completely degloved. The owners were concerned because they were not in a position to continue to pay for his vet bills, plus they did not feel they would be able to clean and wrap his wounds on a daily basis. Murrieta, CA: 2 Quarter Horse Geldings Need Home (Must Go Together)
Please help find a home for two registered American Quarter horse geldings. They must go together. The horses are buddy sour- which means that if you try to take one away, the other will get very upset, and run around. They are fine as long as they are worked within sight of each other. Ollie’s New Shoes
Ollie is a 14 year old Irish Sport Horse who needed a place to live. He is a retired Grand Prix jumper (which meant he was jumping 6 foot jumps!) who had developed navicular and suspensory issues in his front legs, which prevented him from being ridden. Although his owners were committed to caring for him, he was miserable out in a retirement facility where he got very little interaction with humans. RIP Clara the Chicken
We are sad to report the death of Clara, one of the chickens at Hanaeleh. October has been a difficult month here at Hanaeleh, and while the death of Clara may not seem to be that important to some people, she was a part of our family here at the ranch for a number of years.
