Misters at Hanaeleh
It has been such a horribly hot, humid summer this year, and we have been trying to determine the best way we can keep the horses cool. All of the horses have shelters, and we will rinse them on very hot days (which lately seems to be everyday). Bella: From Kill Pen to Loving Home

Rescuing Bella Earlier this year Hanaeleh facilitated the rescue of two horses out of a kill pen in Texas. This was one of many feedlots where the kill buyers send the horses right before they are sent across the border to Mexico for slaughter. There are kill pens across the northern US border as well. Thank you to Western Welding!
Last week LadyBug and Gypsy decided to get into a tiff, and the resulting casualty was a support pole for their shelters. The pole sheared off completely at the welded area, which unfortunately is typical for some of the pipes we bought during Covid. It doesn't help that ridiculous mares have large stalls but feel it necessary to stand right next to each other and be jerks to one another (we all remember junior high, right?).
