Ruby is a 21 year-old Thoroughbred mare (she'll be 22 in May!). When Hanaeleh rescued Ruby, she had lost her foal due to starvation and she was very disconnected from life. She was also lame on her front right. After a lot of good food, love and some stall rest, she started to enjoy life again. Help Get Marty to Hanaeleh!

Last week we posted about Marty, a 25 y/o Quarter horse gelding who was dumped in an almond grove (you can see his post here). He was starving, and ate almonds to stay alive before a kind woman saw him and rescued him. She has been trying to find someone who will take him, but it is obvious he needs a lot of veterinary care to get healthy, and no one wants to take on that responsibility. Marty was abandoned in the orange groves in Bakersfield. He was covered in mud and hadn't been fed well, but was eating almonds to survive.
