This past week we had expected to welcome Marty, a 25 year-old Quarter horse who was coming from Bakersfield (you can read his original post here). We even had a few kind people donate to help us pay for Marty's transport to Hanaeleh. Unfortunately, a few days before Marty came down, we were told that he was a stallion. The end of February marks three years since Lou Dillon was rescued from the streets of Watts. He was scared and emaciated, and was running around the busy streets during a horrible rainstorm until a kind homeowner finally caught him and called the police. The police came right away, but it took hours for the animal control trailer to get to them, so the police officers had to stand out in the rain that entire time.
