Congratulations to Ruby and Molly!

We are thrilled to announce that Molly, Ruby's long-time favorite volunteer, has decided to formally adopt Ruby! Ruby came to Hanaeleh in December of 2015. Her owner was losing her ranch and had no money to purchase feed, so all of the horses on the ranch were malnourished. Ruby was a retired racehorse and had been a broodmare, but she lost her foal due to malnutrition. UPDATE 2022: Venus

Venus is a little liver chestnut mare who was rescued from a now-defunct "rescue." She had gotten a splinter in her left eye at the rescue, which festered and created a great deal of scar tissue. The people at the rescue didn't bother to treat her eye, so a volunteer offered to foster her and was able to get Venus some veterinary care.
