Helping Garnet Recover From Her Injury
Last week while a volunteer was grooming Garnet, we noticed that her right front leg was swollen. In looking at the injury more closely, it was apparent from the swelling that she had bowed (torn) her digital flexor tendon, which is the large tendon that goes up the back of the leg to the knee. She did not seem uncomfortable or lame on the leg, which was a good sign that it was not a more serious injury, although the area was swollen and there was quite a bit of heat in the injured area.
