We are very sad to report that earlier this week we had to make the very difficult decision to help Sable over the Rainbow Bridge. Losing Sable has left us all heartbroken. Sable came to Hanaeleh at the end of March 2022; we rescued her and Tilly from a situation where they were not cared for appropriately. Their stalls at their previous home had not been cleaned in months, and Sable's hooves had suffered. She had dropped soles and had foundered as well. Additionally, while she was on … [Read more...]
Silverado Canyon, CA: 2 Thoroughbred Mares Need Homes ASAP
Hanaeleh was contacted by a woman who is looking for homes for her two Thoroughbred mares. These horses are NOT at Hanaeleh. If you are interested in Gina and Madonna, please contact the owner directly: Cecilia (949) 609-0925. They don't necessarily have to go together, but it would be nice if they could. Both mares were ridden as polo ponies, but for the past five years have been pastured out in Silverado Canyon in Orange County. The horses are still healthy and sound, but are not up-to-date … [Read more...]

Tilly had not been ridden in several months, and while she was fed regularly, she was kept in her stall and was not exercised. Additionally, she needed vet and farrier care. Thankfully, Hanaeleh was able to take Tilly (and her friend, Sable), and within a few months of regular care, Tilly started … [Read more...]
