We had several people come out to our work day on Sunday, and with their help we were able to get a LOT done! First, we put in two yards of gravel and sand underneath Quixote and Lou Dillon's stalls to help level them out and raise them a little. We were told by the owner that Bandero is SAFE and has a new, loving home! Thank you to everyone who helped to network him! Hanaeleh was contacted by a woman who is looking for help in rehoming their family's horse. Unfortunately they are no longer in a position to care for Bandero, so they are looking to find him a good home. Bandero is around 12-13 years old. UPDATE SAFE: We were contacted by the owner who said he was able to place Savannah in a new home. Thank you to everyone who helped to network her! We were contacted by a man in Los Angeles, CA, who has a 14 year-old Thoroughbred mare named Savannah. Savannah is about 16 hands, and is a dark bay with NO white anywhere! Horses and the Rain
This winter has been incredibly frustrating at the ranch. We deal with one winter storm only to be hit a week later by another. It's been difficult on both the volunteers as well as the horses, as the mud makes everything more arduous. This year has also been unusually COLD, which has meant that we have had to break out more blankets than usual, and we've even had to put two blankets on when it is obvious that the horse is still cold.
