Hanaeleh has been at our current facility for over 13 years now, and we have spent a lot of money into making the property work for us and the horses. Spring Means Grass for the Horses!
Although the rain has been annoying to say the least, it has come with a lovely side benefit- there is a plethora of fresh grass for the horses to graze on! Things to remember: Spring grass is high in sugar, so it should be fed in limited amounts- usually no more than 20 minutes of grazing per day. Horses who are at risk of founder should have all spring grass clipped around their paddocks so they don't end up foundering. UPDATE: We have received several offers to help Williamette, and we have turned over all options to her owner! At this point I think that she has plenty of different options to help her keep her horse. Raven Goes to School
We are excited to share that Raven took a field trip last week to visit Canyon High School! Hanaeleh's president, Elizabeth Zarkos, is an English teacher at Canyon, and she wanted to find a way to help introduce horses to the students. A few years ago, Hanaeleh had a grant that allowed us to bring some horses to Canyon to do Socio-Emotional Learning with the students, but that money ran out.
