About two weeks ago, Hanaeleh was contacted by a young lady who had rescued a horse that had gone lame.  While meaning well, she did not have experience with rehabilitating horses, and was talked into potentially taking her horse to a "euthanasia clinic."  She reached out to us before having her put down in the hopes that we would hopefully be able to help. Dallas is a 14 year-old Arabian mare who needs a home ASAP! She has been ridden on trail and western.  Her owner says that she has good ground manners. Dallas has all four shoes (last shod: May 13th). Maggie Update

Last week we had Maggie tested for Cushings- with her coat growing in the way it has and her general attitude, we wanted to do the blood test to check to see if she was Cushinoid. The results came back and she is, indeed, Cushinoid.  We will start her on medication this week and have already changed her diet.  She is going to live with Delilah in the bottom paddock as we want to ensure that Sapphire does not lose weight as a result of the new diet. Sapphire will move up next to Gypsy and … [Read more...]
