This past weekend we had a very lively troop of Brownie scouts come out to the barn to help! They painted cavaletti, ensuing in a maelstrom of pink and red and white not only on the cavaletti, but also on the children! In addition to coming out and helping and feeding the horses, the troop also donated two bales of alfalfa hay, two bags of carrots and two bags of apples to the horses! Lucerne Valley, CA: Missouri Fox Trotter Needs Home
The owner rescued this mare from potential slaughter in January and has been doing ground work and ground driving with her. She had about three weeks with a professional trainer. She is about 15 hands, and is around 15-17 y/o. The owner says that she needs an experienced rider as she has probably had some abuse in her past. Savannah Update!
This weekend we went out to see how Savannah is doing- exceptionally well as it turns out! Mike has been meticulous in his care of Savannah, and we don't know when she has looked this good! Sheepie Update
Not much to report on the sheep this week, except for the fact that Magellan has not only developed a taste for the chicken feed, meaning we now have to lock him OUT of the chicken coop, he also got continues to try to eat the horse's grain (which is bad for sheep), resulting in our placing the buckets seemingly too high out of reach.
