Sheldon Wild Horse Roundup Begins

(Denio, NV) On September 9th, the removal of the last of the horses that have called the area of Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge home for at least a century began. Observation was at least 1.5 miles from the trap allowing for no positive identification of individual animals being removed from the range. (Winnemucca, NV) On August 30th, Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge was sent a letter on behalf of Bonnie Kohleriter, a private individual, and Laura Leigh, President of Wild Horse Education, attempting to address serious issues concerning the Refuge’s plan to remove 412 wild horses starting September 9th.
