Today was farrier day down at Hanaeleh! Our wonderful farrier, Josh Riley, came down to trim all of our horses. Hope and Grace got their second trim since they came to Hanaeleh, and Josh said that their feet look so much better! The seedy toe has grown out, and he was able to cut off the rest of the diseased hoof. UPDATE: Savannah Loves Her New Home!
Although we ask that all of our new horse owners give us annual updates on the horses we adopt out to them, we often like to go down to see the horses when it's convenient. Savannah's new owner asked if we would like to go down to see her, and of course we said, "YES!" and headed out to see her this afternoon. 4/12/18 UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Ivy's owner contacted us this afternoon and let us know that Ivy has found a wonderful home! Her owner has a contract that will ensure that she has first right-of-refusal on Ivy, and that Ivy can never be raced or sold to slaughter. Horseback Archery!
Although I love spending time at Hanaeleh with the horses, sometimes things can get a little repetitive. The horses really seem to enjoy the structure, but I need more mental stimulation.
