We received word that there are two horses at the Baldwin Park animal shelter in Los Angeles who need homes. One is a gelding named Tonka, around 18 years, the other is an older mare, about 25 years old. The mare is visually impaired so she will definitely need someone to rescue her. We don’t know any other information other than this, and that they desperately need a place to go.
The gelding’s intake number is: A5340380
The mare’s intake number is: A5345321
Baldwin Park is where Lou Dillon was taken after he was found running around Watts. The people there do their best, but they have limited facilities for horses there.
Unfortunately we are unable to help either of these horses- we are not only full at our facility, but we have four other horses in foster homes! We did receive several people who said that they had openings at their facility, so we are networking these horses in case anyone is open to adopting them from the shelter.
We do not know any other information on either of these horses- the best bet is to contact the shelter directly if you are interested in helping them: (626) 962-3577.
