Hanaeleh was called out to take an Arabian whose owners no longer wanted her. She had been given to a person who came out to the facility for another horse, but was not able to take Annie as well. All of the horses on the property were starving, but Annie had been abandoned by someone else, and so they were only willing to let her go. Hanaeleh took Annie and called animal control to take the other horses. Annie had been kept in a 10×10 stall that was not cleaned, and so she had burns from urine scalding on her back, in addition to large, deep wounds on her hips. She was emaciated and had almost no muscle tone. It took several months to get her healthy again, and we eventually began to work with her under saddle. She was doing well, and we were hoping to find her a home where she would be a trail horse, but when Cesar’s owner contacted us, looking for a horse to keep Cesar company, we felt that Annie would be a great fit! She and Cesar get along famously and get to hang out together all day!
