Hanaeleh receives calls every week about a horse who is in need of a home. Although we cannot take in every horse, we do try to network horses as often as possible. We believe that this is a great option for the owners and the horses, as it allows the owners to converse directly, and it is less stressful for the horse, as the horse is not constantly being moved from one stable to another. Last month, we were contacted by a man who knows one of our volunteers, Amy. He had some major health issues and was saddened by the fact that he was no longer able to ride or care for his horse, Aggie. We had a couple come out a few weeks before who were looking for a horse, so we were able to connect them to Amy, who worked as an intermediary. The couple came out and worked with Aggie and fell completely in love, and we trailered Aggie over to her new home this week!
Her new home is so beautiful! She has a gorgeous stall, with a large lower arena and a HUGE upper arena! She also has about 10 goats as friends (although she wasn’t really keen on them when she first met them, we’re sure she’ll come around). Her new owners are doing everything they can to ensure that Aggie is healthy and happy.
We are very happy that we were able to help get Aggie a home, but we should note that this only worked out because of so many people! It is unfortunate that Aggie’s previous owner is unable to care for her, but knowing that his lovely girl is safe and is loved most definitely helps relieve some of his anxiety. The new owners are wonderful people, and we know that Aggie is going to be very, very spoiled for the rest of her life!
