March 1, 2018 UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Cody has found a home! He will go to the same wonderful family who adopted Montana from us a few years ago. We received an update from his owner, saying he did very well on the trailer ride, and settled in very easily into his new home. His new owner said he is very sweet and curious! His owner is going to have the chiropractor out to assess him to see why he is bucking.
We are so very happy for Cody and his new family! Thank you to all of the people who shared his post and helped find him a new home!
Cody is an 11 year-old registered Missouri Foxtrotter gelding. He is a “sooty buckskin” and is 15 hands. Cody was purchased in April of last year, but has been bucking under saddle with his new owner. She is looking for a new home for him because he bucked her off and she no longer trusts riding him. Any new owner should be aware that he does buck, and should work with a trainer to identify the problem. There is no adoption fee, but the new owner will be required to sign a contract with Hanaeleh, indicating that we have first right-of-refusal. The goal is to find Cody a new permanent home, not have him go to someone who will try to sell him again.
Cody is currently barefoot and is due for a trim. His shots are current through May, and overall he is an easy keeper. His owner has him on alfalfa, although the breeder had him on grass hay. He is usually dominant in the corral, but prefers to be the follower when out on trail. He can be herd bound when out with a group.
Cody’s registered name is Cody’s Golden Myles H, #07-91688. The owner never received the original papers from the breeder, so they are apparently still with Hope Adams at Double A Ranch in Anza.
