Hanaeleh helps to network horses who need homes, free of charge. These horses are offered free to a good home, but an adoption agreement and contract are often suggested. Hanaeleh is not responsible for any of the information provided and does not know anything beyond what is listed in the post. Please contact the owner directly.
Moheko (Mojo for short) is a 17-year-old white Azteca gelding. Mojo was rescued by his current owner five years ago. At that time, it was obvious that he had been severely abused; he almost lost his tongue by having it tied and he had scars across his body, most likely from being used in “stallion fighting,” which is similar to cock fighting, but with horses.
Mojo has been trained to ride and, according to trainers, has been jumped in the past. He also knows the Spanish walk, although the current owner does not know the cues. Mojo has been used mostly for trail riding with the current owner. He is very sweet, but has a bit of a stubborn side, so would need an intermediate rider, preferably with a kind and patient trainer.
Mojo does not trailer well, and the current owner believes that he had some sort of accident or issue previously in the trailer, but her recent medical issues have prevented her from working on getting him acclimated to the trailer again. Mojo would not do well stabled alone, but needs to have some horsie friends around him. He should probably be in a pipe corral as he will jump out of a box stall.
His owner has had medical issues for the past two years and will soon be unable to financially care for Mojo. She would like to find him a safe home with someone who can love him and continue to help him work through his issues. He is a good horse, but just needs someone who is kind and patient.
Mojo is NOT at Hanaeleh, and we do not have any other information on him. For more information on Mojo, please contact Nancy at bushtit2
