Pepper is a wonderful horse. He is a Missouri Fox Trotter about 20 years old. He is gentle and loving and is able to be ridden. He is barefoot but I put boots on his feet if I go out into the park because of all of the rocks. In the arena, he does not require boots as it is soft sand. He has laminitis but it has been in remission for over 2 1/2 years. Because I take care of him by feeding him orchard, keep bedding in his stall and give him regular exercise, he will probably stay in remission. I am pretty sure he developed the laminits from his previous owner leaving shoes on for over 6 months so his feet were not allowed to expand. He is a flea bitten gray (closer to white and has several melanoma masses but according to Dr. Secor, they are NOT invasive or dangerous.
