We were contacted by an equine therapy program about a Paint pony named Dallas. He is not working out well in their program, and the program manager needs to find him a new home as soon as possible.
Dallas is a Paint gelding and is approximately 15-17 years old. He is around 700 lbs and is around 14 hands (so cute!). He is current on his vaccines and in great health. He is on Cosequin, but the vet has said he is healthy and technically doesn’t need any supplements except for preventative care.
The program manager said that he is cute and friendly and does not bite, but can kick out when he gets impatient. He is not suited to a therapeutic program, and gets overwhelmed with too many people (like some of us!). He would do better with an owner who is knowledgeable and sets good boundaries with him.
He does need some work with his ground manners, and he would not be good around children unsupervised. The program manager was told that he used to be a pony trotter in another program, but had too much energy for their program. A program is not the right placement for him; he really needs to go to a private owner who will love him.
If you are interested in Dallas, please fill out our horse referral form and we will forward all inquiries to the owner!
