Please join us at the ranch in Trabuco Canyon for Hanaeleh's 20th anniversary of rescuing and rehabilitating horses! Come meet the horses who live at Hanaeleh and hear their rescue stories.

A NIGHT AT OUR BEAUTIFUL SANCTUARY

All proceeds benefit Hanaeleh, a 100% volunteer-run organization that rescues and rehabilitates abused and neglected horses in Orange County. Founded in 2004, Hanaeleh adopts out rehabilitated, healthy horses and is a sanctuary for horses who need more care.

Hanaeleh is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (ID# 20-3255341). Donations pay for feed and veterinary care of our horses.

LOCATION: Hanaeleh Ranch in Trabuco Canyon.
OFFSITE PARKING AT TRABUCO OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Our shuttle service will bring you to the ranch.

Please be respectful of our neighbors and do not park at the ranch.

Meet Our Horses

EVERY HORSE DESERVES LOVE AND CARE

Star is an orphan who was rescued in the nick of time from slaughter. We worked with a team of people to rescue her, along with Abe and 4 other babies (who had loving homes waiting for them).

Abe, the orphan mule was rescued with Star in Summer 2023. They both came from the Navajo auction.

Gabriel was adopted last year, but his owner contacted us this month and said that Gabriel was having issues under saddle and would be happier retired. We always welcome our horses back no matter what.

Ladybug was abandoned at a local boarding facility. A kind person was taking care of Ladybug but she needed a safe place to go. So, we welcomed her to Hanaeleh.

Andromeda was rescued from an auction that ships horses to slaughter in November 2022.

Hope was rescued with her best friend Grace from a neglect situation. Grace passed away in Oct 2023 but Hope has many friends around her who love her.

Tillie’s owner is dealing with a number of medical issues and was no longer able to care for her horse. She had someone else lined up to care for her, but they ended up selling their property, so Tillie didn’t have anywhere to go.

Venus was rescued August 2018. She was severely neglected and is blind in one eye.

Ulysses – found in a dry riverbed starving by animal control. He was a victim of Charro riding and has permanent neurological issues.

I was found in Watts, emaciated, running in the street. Cars were dodging me and people threw trash at me. I'm living at Hanaeleh now and things are looking up!

Garnet’s owner was moving for work in August 2021 and couldn’t take her because Garnet had a severe breathing issue. Our vet discovered she needed surgery ASAP. We raised the money we needed and Garnet had surgery in September 2021. Today, she can run without issue and is living her best life.

EVERY SPONSORSHIP DOLLAR GOES DIRECTLY TO THE CARE OF OUR HORSES AND SUSTAINS OUR VITAL PROGRAMS.

We rescue all breeds and ages of horses, and after we rehabilitate them, we work to find them new loving homes. When horses are not adoptable due to severe neglect or abuse, we provide sanctuary for them to live out their days knowing they’ll always be loved and cared for.
