UPDATE: SAFE! We are so happy to post that these two have found a new home and will be going TOGETHER! The owner contact us today (Sunday, 4/16/23) and let us know. Many thanks to everyone who helped to share these two lovely ladies who are so deserving of a safe retirement.
We were contacted by a man who lives in Orange Park Acres, in Orange, CA. His uncle had bred Thoroughbreds, but unfortunately his uncle passed away, and he had to take on his uncle’s two horses. They are beautiful mares who were raced when they were young, but have spent most of their lives as broodmares. They are healthy, but they are only halter-broke, and not trained to ride.
These mares are bonded, and have lived together for years, so it would really be best if they could go to a forever home together. There is no adoption fee, but the owner wants to make sure they will go to a good home.
Sliven
Sliven is a 16 year-old chestnut Thoroughbred mare. She is around 15.2 hands. She is not trained to ride, but the owner said she moves out sound. You can see her pedigree here.
Alycaly
Alycaly is a 22 year-old black Thoroughbred mare. She is also around 15.2 hands. She is also not trained to ride, and she suffered an injury on the track. You can see her pedigree here (she is a direct descendent of War Admiral!).
These horses are NOT at Hanaeleh- if you are interested in Sliven and Alycaly, please contact their owner Danny: (714) 454-7605.
