Marty was abandoned in the orange groves in Bakersfield. He was covered in mud and hadn’t been fed well, but was eating almonds to survive. A wonderful woman was able to save him from starving, but she is unable to keep him.
Please note: Marty is NOT at Hanaeleh- he is in Keene, CA (near Bakersfield).
The vet has determined that Marty is in his mid-twenties. He is most likely a Quarter horse. The current owner has been giving him a psyllium regimen to get rid of the almond hulls and sand that is in his belly. He is also on a meal plan recommended by the vet.
Marty has good ground manners but is currently lame on his left foot- he has a growth on the pastern that the vet has looked at- he told the owner to treat it topically. The farrier is coming out this week to get his feet done.
The current owner is looking for a home for Marty. Please note that Marty is NOT at Hanaeleh. If you are interested in Marty, please contact his current owner Judith by e-mail: jfrary26@gmail.com or by phone: (760)704-3609.
