We were contacted by a therapeutic riding center in Temecula that has a horse who is not working in their program. Maverick is a 20 year-old Spotted Saddle Horse and is about 15.1 hands. He is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations and vet records. He came with shoes, but they took them off. He had a clear vet check when he came to the program a few months ago, but started twisting on one of his back legs but it is not causing him to be lame. The twist might be corrected with a proper trim.
According to the program, Maverick does not like multiple people riding him all of the time, so he would NOT be good as a lesson horse. He wants to bond with someone and cannot do that in his current program. He needs an intermediate rider- he’s very calm, but is not bombproof.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in Maverick, please contact: elizabeth@hanaeleh.org and we will forward your information to the riding center.
